Moss/Mould & Lichen
Has your driveway become slippery because of moss or mould? Is your roof not looking so great because of lichen growth? Aside from the fact that Moss/Mould and Lichen makes your roof or concrete surfaces look unsightly, Moss/Mould and Lichen can cause significant damage, resulting in costly repairs.
Temperature, dust and rainfall all create the perfect environment for lichen to flourish. In certain environments, the paint coating of prepainted steel may be subject to lichen growth. Lichen is found almost everywhere with their spores being dispersed by wind.
Protect
Lichen holds moisture against the surface. When this moisture is exposed to cool temperatures it can then freeze causing the roofing material to bend, warp, shift, or crack. This may drastically decrease the life-span of your roof.
The build-up of lichen on your roof can also have an affect on the gutters ability to manage rainfall. As a result, you could end up with blocked gutters or a leaky roof.
Treatment
TLC Softwash can treat your roof with our slow acting, long lasting roof treatment to remove existing growth and/or prevent future growth.
The treatment is applied to your roof and left to kill the Moss/Mould and Lichen (including spores) over a period between 4 weeks and 6 months (depending on type of growth). The treatment typically lasts up to 18 months, however we do recommend having the roof treated every 12-18 months to prevent the growth from returning.
NOTE:
If your property is on tank water, you must disconnect your water tank prior to TLC Softwash arriving at your property. The tank must remain disconnected for 3-4 good downpours of rain to flush your gutters and pipes out before reconnecting and harvesting rainwater
